Yoga for the Soul

Welcome to The Yoga Hut Fife. A peaceful little haven hidden away in Newmills Fife, run by Jemma Black, Hatha Yoga Teacher.

Thank you for visiting my website. My name is Jemma, and I am a 300 hrs trained Hatha Yoga Teacher.

I trained with Yoga Master, Morag Wilson, from the Jyoti Yoga Teacher Training School in 2019.  I am registered for life with Yoga Alliance International (Europe) and continue my relationship with the Jyoti Yoga school as a support teacher and lecturer for teacher training weekends.

Since qualifying as a Yoga Teacher I have continued my professional and personal development, taking part in courses and webinars including;

​​I run group classes in person and on Zoom.

Group classes are run in 4 beautiful West Fife villages, ComrieTorryburn,  Culross  and Kincardine. 

I run One to One yoga sessions, and Yoga Therapy for Anxiety from The Yoga Hut, Newmills. KY12 8ST

6 weekly Yoga Nidra Sessions are held via Zoom. I also run corporate classes for a number of businesses.

For those that can't manage standard Yoga classes due to injury or mobility issues, I teach Chair Based Yoga from Townhill Community Centre on a Wednesday morning at 10am. Booking is made directly through the community centre, click here to contact them.

All classes are suitable for beginners onwards. Classes are layered and built on gradually to allow for all body types, mobility and ability, making them inclusive for all.

Zoom is an excellent way to take your Yoga classes with you on the go.

Zoom classes make Yoga accessible making it an easy way to fit a second class into a busy week, take your practise on holiday with you or practise from your workspace.

Great detail is given to alignment and adjustments are given throughout all classes.

Group classes are suitable for all bodies, ages, genders and abilities from complete beginners to the more practised Yogi. Adjustments and alternative positions are layered through the class as part of the practise. 

Group classes are an excellent way to become part of a wellbeing community, holding space for each other through practises.

Restorative Yoga Classes.

Restorative Yoga is a deeply soothing, gentle practise. Using Yoga props to support the body, we encourage deep relaxation into the stretch, working deep into the nervous system and balancing energies. This class is like a full body massage for the soul and melts you beautifully into the weekend.

Classes are held at Torryburn Community Centre on the last Friday of every month.

Suitable for all, a Yoga Nidra Session contains very little movement. The session is delivered through Zoom, so you can create a comfortable and cosy space within your home, lay back and relax.
Yoga Nidra is a deeply healing, guided relaxation that takes you through various states of consciousness to induce deep peace and a state of calm within the body, mind and nervous system.

Yoga Therapy For Anxiety is 

is delivered on a 1:1 basis from my garden studio, The Yoga Hut Fife, at my home in Newmills Fife, or available on Zoom.

Yoga Therapy for Anxiety is a personalised six session programme, which helps to alleviate and combat anxiety, giving you a complete toolkit of therapeutic Yoga techniques to continue your journey through life.

Working through movement, breath work and meditation practises we work deep into your nervous system, creating a bespoke programme just for you. 

With regular manageable home practises, this programme has the ability to permanently reprogram the way we react to stress and anxiety.

Individual Yoga Session

£65 per person.

Beginners Yoga lesson.

Hatha Yoga is the foundation of all Yoga practises. Working at a beginner’s level we explore yogic breathing, alignment of postures and finish with a deep relaxation. We work at a pace that suits the individual, layering movements to find the correct fit. This session will leave you feeling refreshed and relaxed.

Sessions last 1 hour and 15 minutes

Individual Yoga Session 
£65 per person.

Intermediate Yoga lesson.

For the more experienced Yogi, this lesson works with your own capabilities but with slightly stronger postures, working through various yogic techniques as we go through the sequence. Moving with the breath and working into the body this session will be gentle but strengthening, finishing with a deep relaxation, and grounding.

Session lasts 1 hour and 15 minutes


Restorative Yoga and Yoga Nidra
£75 per person.

Restoring and balancing.

Restorative Yoga is a deeply relaxing yoga practise. Suitable for beginners onwards this is a mat-based session taken at a slow pace. Positions are held with the support of yoga props. Focussing into the breath and body we slowly release tension as we soften into the stretch. Restorative practise works deep into the nervous system, bringing about a sense of deep peace and calm. We move effortlessly from the practise into Yoga Nidra, the sleep of the Yogi, this is a guided meditative relaxation. We go on a journey of sensory awareness through the mind and body. Deeply relaxing and deeply healing, Yoga Nidra can help to soothe the anxious mind, relieve stress and promote healthy sleep patterns.

Session lasts 1 hour and 45 minutes.

Complete Yoga Experience
£150 per person.

Complete Yoga Indulgence.

The full yoga experience is like a mini retreat. This is a bespoke package tailored to your own specific requirements. We can use breathwork, movement, meditation, mudras, Yoga Therapy for anxiety and Yoga Nidra. I can also incorporate sound therapy into this session at an additional cost. This package is available to beginners onwards. The price includes a 20 minute zoom call prior to your session to discuss how we can put the programme together to ensure all your needs are met.
